Mermet Europe's central warehouse

Since beginning of April, Mermet Europe BV offers a single point of contact for customers ordering fabrics from Copaco Screenweavers, Mermet Sunscreen, Helioscreen and Screen Protectors with the aim of making it easier for customers to place their orders. A new ERP system has also been implemented for order processing. As with all major changes, some unexpected challenges have arisen. The entire Mermet team is working hard to minimise disruption and ensure a smooth transition.

Stocks from Copaco, Mermet Sunscreen and Helioscreen have been transferred to Mermet Europe's central warehouse in Bavikhove in Belgium. From there, they are delivered to customers. This warehouse is currently under development. Once operational, it will be equipped with an advanced AI camera system capable of detecting defects in a fraction of a second. The inspected rolls will then be automatically packed and stored by robots in specially designed racks. These robots will also prepare orders for transport. Ultimately, this will result in faster delivery times while ensuring that customers receive the highest-quality products. For logistical reasons, Screen Protectors customers will be supplied from the Spanish warehouse. This will ensure acceptable delivery times for all European customers. The entire system should be fully operational in the second half of the year.

Mermet announces this new step as the final part of the cooperation process between Mermet SAS, Copaco, Helioscreen and Screen Protectors, which started in 2020. Since then, the 4 companies have been working progressively closer together. At R+T in February 2024, they unveiled their umbrella brand, Mermet. The existing brand identity had undergone a major makeover, which has been warmly welcomed by customers and employees alike.
